Happy (late) Father’s Day Weekend


My parents visited me this past weekend and I decided to give my dad his card and spices in person.  I have been digging grays and stripes since I stole my dad’s gray hoodie in middle school so it’s no surprise I did gray stripes for this theme.

To help celebrate summer, I made my dad spice mixes.  I ended up using Trina Holden’s, Real {Fast} Food’s recipes:

Fajita Mix
3 T. seasoned salt
3 T. oregano
3 T. ground cumin
2 T. garlic powder
1 T. chili powder
1 T. paprika
2 t. crushed red pepper flakes
1 T. sucanat (optional)
1/4 c. arrowroot powder
To use as marinade:  mix 1  mix,  T. olive oil and T. lemon juice.

Ranch Mix
1 T. salt
6 T. granulated onion
3 T. granulated garlic
3 T. parsley
1 t. ground pepper
To use:  mix 2 heaping teaspoons with 1 pint buttermilk for salad dressing or 1 pint of sour cream for dip.
